Getting Started with Sheep: Practical Training

Our sheep course combines practical and theoretical learning, giving you the essential skills and knowledge to start and manage your own flock. Participants can also gain a City & Guilds Technical Competence Certificate in sheep health, husbandry, and handling. Courses run twice a year to align with the lambing and mating seasons, providing timely, hands-on experience.

Goat Savvy: Build Your Flock with Confidence

 

Our goat course offers a mix of practical and theoretical learning, providing the key skills and knowledge needed to start and care for your own herd. Participants can also earn a City & Guilds Technical Competence Certificate in goat health, husbandry, and handling. Courses are held twice a year to coincide with kidding and breeding seasons, giving hands-on experience at the most relevant times.

Introduction to Sheep Keeping

 

Have you ever dreamed of owning a small farm or smallholding, inspired by the idea of keeping livestock as pets or producing your own food?

Our smallholder courses give you the opportunity to discover whether the grass really is greener. This introductory smallholder sheep course provides an honest insight into smallholding life, exploring what’s truly involved in caring for sheep.

With plenty of opportunity for discussion and hands-on learning, we’ll cover feeding, health care, legislation, handling, and moving sheep—helping you decide whether sheep ownership is right for you.
