Sheep Experience in Kent

Feed, pet and walk Valais sheep and lambs in a unique hands-on farm experience near Dover.

Pre- booking essential

You would be Baa-kin mad not   to book a sheep experience.

Our 1-hour Valais Sheep Experience offers a unique chance to meet some of the most striking and gentle animals on the farm. You’ll get up close with our beautiful Valais Blacknose sheep, known for their distinctive markings and calm, friendly temperament, and spend time walking alongside our two Valais lambs.

We also have a variety of sheep breeds on the farm, many of which are much-loved pets who enjoy attention and a good pamper. During your visit, you’ll help prepare their food, hand-feed them, and spend time petting them before setting off on your walk.

As you explore the farm, you’ll also meet some of our other friendly sheep residents, each with their own personality and charm. It’s a relaxed, hands-on experience that’s perfect for animal lovers and a wonderful way to connect with farm life.

Our sheep love a selfie too, and you might even catch Miss Doubtfire, our mischievous Dutch Spotted lamb, trying to photobomb your photos!

We typically have around 60 to 100 sheep on the farm, with numbers varying throughout the year. Our flock includes a variety of breeds such as Lleyns, Suffolks, Jacob, Dutch Spotted, Zwarble X, Southdown, Ryeland, and of course our Valais. Each breed brings its own unique character, making for a diverse and charming flock.

Should you wish to hand feed and meet all of our other animal  then you could consider booking our V.I.P Experience.

Can children walk their own sheep?

Children aged 3 years and over are welcome to join the experience, but to ensure the safety of both our sheep and visitors, all children under the age of 8 will need to share a sheep with a paying adult.

Children aged 3 years and over are welcome to join the experience, but to ensure the safety of both our sheep and visitors, all children under the age of 8 will need to share a sheep with a paying adult.

How long and how far will we walk?

The walk will take approximately 20 minutes as you meander around the perimeter of our 26-acre farm. Our sheep love to nibble on trees, shrubs, and brambles, so there will be plenty of stops along the way. The walk is just as exciting for the sheep as it is for you!

 Which sheep will we walk

This experience includes walking our two Valais lambs. However, subject to availability, we may also include other halter-trained lambs for larger groups, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Who is the visit    Suitable for?

This experience is suitable for ages 6 and over. However, children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult when walking the sheep

Our adult Valais sheep are extremely friendly and have little awareness of personal space, with their distinctive outward-curving horns (don’t worry, they are not sharp at the tips). Because of their gentle nature, they are generally very calm around people, but we do encourage close adult supervision and calm, respectful handling at all times.

Please note that our land is hilly and the paddocks can become muddy in wet weather. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or pushchairs in these areas. If you would like to visit with a wheelchair, please contact us in advance, as we may be able to arrange for some animals to be brought into the barn or yard area, which is more accessible.
